In 2014 we have developed one central project: FabPod Futures, a speculative design+ethnography exploration of experienced, creative and possible ways of knowing and not knowing through the FabPod – an architectural design object.
FabPod Futures has developed two key stages:
Re-enacting and re-imagining the FabPod
Video ethnographies of experienced and possible worlds: building on Sarah’s existing work with video-reenactments this method was re-worked to explore how participants in our project have experienced the environment in which the FabPod is found and how it can be engaged for imagining different futures. This has involved a process of seeking to to understand existing forms of knowing, and undermining these by inviting ways to imagine knowing the FabPod in different places, and modes of being. To develop this Sarah and Yoko we have collaborated with RA Annie Ferguson and will all be writing about this project in the future.
Essaying the FabPod
In this project Yoko and Sarah collaborated with Non-Fiction writer David Carlin to develop a writing workshop around the FabPod, led by David, and then re-created in an e-book by Adrian Miles.
